Professional Accomplishments

Ms.  Brown was an Assistant United States Attorney for the Southern District of California before beginning her private practice.  She is a partner in the firm of Brown and Brown and holds an AV rating from Martindale and Hubbell.  Her practice is limited to family law.  Ms.  Brown is a past president of Lawyers Club of San Diego and has served two terms on the Executive Committee of the Certified Family Law Specialists Committee of the San Diego County Bar Association.  She has also served on the Board of Directors and Executive Committee of California Women Lawyers and the Legal Aid Society of San Diego.

Ms.  Brown was named a Master of the American Inns of Court, Oliver Wendell Holmes, Chapter and has served as a Judge Pro Tem of the San Diego Superior Court, hearing family law matters.  She is a frequent lecturer on family law topics for The Certified Family Law Specialists Seminars and for C.E.B.



Relevant Experience

Ms.  Brown has been an advocate for alternative dispute resolution.  She is a trained mediator and a graduate of the Harvard Law School Negotiation Training Workshop; the model for interest based mediation.

Ms.  Brown chaired the mediation sub-committee of the Certified Family Law Specialists Committee and successfully organized and presented a seminar for the Certified Family Law Specialists, which trained over 75 attorneys and judges in mediation techniques.
