Biography

I am a Certified Financial Planner and a Certified Divorce Financial Analyst. I assist individuals and couples in the midst of this stressful transition to gain control over their financial future. I guide you and/or your spouse through the financial maze of divorce by providing you with the financial education and information you need in order to make smart financial decisions. I team with many family law attorneys and mental health professionals in my role as the financial neutral in a collaborative divorce.

I started my career on Wall Street over 30 years ago. My financial background has proven uniquely helpful in the area of divorce, an area I have been specializing in for more than ten years. I am an advocate of “Financial Mediation” and “Collaborative Divorce”. These are non-adversarial methods for divorcing that promote dignity, respect, financial education and joint parenting. I am a frequent speaker at local divorce support groups. I am an active member of the following associations: Collaborative Family Law Group of San Diego, the International Association of Collaborative Professionals and the Financial Planning Association, amongst others.

Since 2000 when I started specializing in the area of financial guidance during divorce, I and/or my company, Walsh Financial have been nominated for many Business Excellence and Influential Women in Business awards. I have been a guest lecturer for Northwestern School of Continuing Studies for their Mediation Training and an instructor for their “Advanced Topics in Mediation” and “Advanced Topics in Financial Planning – Divorce and Financial Planning” courses.

“Divorce is no different than any other “life changes” when it comes to your financial plan. During any life change you need to define your financial goals, review your options, reevaluate your plan and make appropriate changes, with proper guidance.”
